Autism/Asperger
Estimates in the prevalence of Autism and Autism Spectrum Disorders have increased dramatically in recent years.  It is now estimated that one in every 91 children has some form of Autism Spectrum Disorder.  Although we are becoming more aware of the disorder, the far reaching effects are difficult to understand.

With over 673,000 Americans diagnosed with the disorder, Autism education is crucial. Quality Autism resources have become increasingly important and now it is common to find this source of Autism help within the community.  Community-based autism programs that assist parents in developing the potential of their child by providing advocacy and information are becoming more commonplace.  They may also have educational programs with a lending library that includes autism training and information to help parents educate stake holders and facilitate community understanding.

With the increase in its diagnosis and prevalence, it becomes obvious this is a serious health issue. Although autism, video, DVD or other educational materials will not cure the autistic symptoms of a child, they can help educate the family, providers and community about various aspects of the disorder.  Program Development Associates Autism and Asperger’s store focuses on autism programs that include educational strategies, training for teachers, tools and DVD resources for professionals and parents of autistic children that are used to provide insight and demonstration that concentrates on this ever increasing diagnosis.
